  1. Go for a quick fix - do all those jobs that you’ve been putting off, such as touching up the paintwork.
  2. Declutter - hide all of your clutter, as prospective buyers will be more impressed if they’re not having to step over piles of kids toys.
  3. Get the price right - get a few estate agents to provide you with a valuation, and check out the local papers for prices of houses in the area.
  4. Don’t be shy - although estate agents might think otherwise, it can be good for you to be in your house when buyers are viewing the property.
  5. Do it yourself - why not list your house on property websites yourself, and take out ads in your local paper.
