Tracing Lost Pensions

If you’ve worked for several companies over the years and taken part in their pension schemes, chances are that you’ve forgotten about a pension or lost some details along the way.

Did you know that the Pension Service (part of the Department for Work and Pensions), has a Pension Tracing Service? If you supply them with your personal details, plus information on the companies you worked for, (address, dates that you worked for them etc.), plus details of the pension scheme, they will trace the pensions for you, for free!

I’ve not actually heard of anyone using this service, but it would be interesting to hear anyone’s feedback if you have.

I HAVE ONLY WORKED FOR THREE COMPANIES IN MY WORKING LIFE I AM NOW SIXTY SIX I DID GET IN TOUCH WITH THE PENSION SERVICE HOPING THAT THEY COULD TRACE A END OF SALARY PENSION THAT WAS TERMINATED BY THE COMPANY THAT I WAS WORKING FOR I WAS TOLD THAT THE PAYMENTS WOULD BE FROZEN UNTIL I WAS SIXTY FIVE I HAVE NOT RECIEVED THE FROZEN PAYMENTS I GAVE ALL THE INFORMATIOM TO THE PENSION SERVICE PLUS NAME OF COMPANY AND DATES TO BE TOLD THAT THEY ONLY TRACE STATE PENSIONS.
