December 20th, 2005 | POSTED BY ROB

The Motley Fool has published a list of the UK’s worst savings accounts to give us all a chuckle (or a shock!) at just how much interest is paid on some bank accounts. If you find yourself with money stuck in these accounts, then it’s time to vote with your feet and switch banks.

The worst five, based on gross annual interest rate on £1,000 are:

  1. Lloyds TSB Reward Savings Account
  2. Northern Rock Instant Access (monthly interest)
  3. Northern Rock Instant Access (annual interest)
  4. Alliance & Leicester Instant Access
  5. Citibank Instant Access
