Cost of Running A Home

According to a recent study, the cost of running a home is £679,000 on average over your lifetime!

The largest part of the cost is taken by the house itself, with almost a third of the total, £313,000, or £5,200 a year, going on mortgage or rent. The next biggest expense is food, averaging over £220,000.
