British Gas Raise Prices By 22%

February 17th, 2006

One of the big stories of the day is the increase in price rises by British Gas. They’ve blamed the increases on the rise in the wholesale price of gas, which has gone up by 70% since September.

According to utility comparison company uSwitch.com, British Gas prices have risen by over 66% since 2004, and they are now 25% more expensive on average than their competitors

So what can you do about it? Well, given that British Gas have raised their prices, it’s likely that their competitors will too. But it might be worth trying out a comparison service such as USwitch to save money on your gas bill. They have an energy price comparison calculator which should give you an idea as to whether you can save on all of your energy bills.
