Google Finance Spam

March 30th, 2006 | POSTED BY ROB

Most of the feedback I’ve read on Google’s Finance portal has been pretty positive, but it appears that one of the features I highlighted as being its most strongest might reduce its credibility, at least until something is done about it.

The Investors Relations blog highlights how spammers are already filling their posts with stock symbols to get picked up by the blog posts section of Google Finance, and posts screenshots of examples.

Stuff like this undermines the credibility of Google Finance and could spoil the huge potential of the blog feature for everyone.

Definitely something Google needs to take a look at, otherwise the feature is likely to be useless.
