April 2nd, 2006 | POSTED BY ROB

Most of us think that once you’ve finished with a credit card, or decide not to use a card, cutting it up is a sufficient measure to make sure the details don’t fall in to the wrong hands, or that the card can no longer be used.
But if you want to really ensure that the card cannot be used for fraudulent purposes, you should also remember to ring your credit card provider to let them know that the card should also be cancelled.

ID fraud is one of the fastest growing types of crime in the U.K., and this simple meaure could save many people from becoming victims.
