How Much Do Charities Earn From Charity Christmas Cards?

December 4th, 2007 2 Comments » | POSTED BY ROB

The Telegraph has published an interesting table and commentary on the amount that charities earn from the charity Christmas cards that are sold in a variety of shops.

I’m not sure the overall results are that surprising, that even at the best rate, they only receive 21% of the purchase price, but a table published reveals that the real scrooges are Harrods, whose cards on average donate just 6% to charity.

The article gives some advice on how to donate the most through charity christmas cards. My advice would be to either buy the cards from the charity themselves, or save a tree or two, forget sending cards to everyone and donate the cash to the charity directly.
