EDF Raise Energy Prices: More Providers To Follow

January 15th, 2008 No Comments » | POSTED BY ROB

I mentioned yesterday about our mammoth gas bill, and posted some tips for reducing your gas consumption.

Today it has been announced that EDF, our energy supplier, is to raise its gas prices by just under 13%, and their electricity prices by just under 8%, following nPower’s price rises at the start of the year.

And it’s likely that the other energy suppliers will eventually follow suit, so it’s more important than ever to look at ways of saving both gas and electricity if you wish to keep your energy payments as low as possible.

As for switching suppliers to find a cheaper option, at the moment the general advice seems to be to sit tight with your current supplier and wait for all providers to raise their prices, then reevaluate the situation. Only if you’ve never switched energy providers is it worth looking to switch at the moment.
