Pension Term Assurance

April 30th, 2006

I’ve put together a new site to give some basic information on pension term assurance (PTA).

Since A-Day on April 6th of this year, it has been possible to get tax relief on your life insurance by taking out PTA. This can mean that premiums can be up to 5% to 15% cheaper than normal life insurance. For most people, this will now be the common method of tkaing out life cover, although in certain cases it might not be suitable.

The life insurance industry is still sorting out all the details with this product, so not all insurers have launched their PTA products as yet, but it’s likely to become more common over the coming months. I’m hoping to add more content to the site as the product matures.
