Using Credit Cards Overseas

There’s no doubt that credit cards are handy when on holiday - in most countries you can hand them over in shops & restaurants etc without having to worry about having the local currency (especially useful at the end of your holiday). But cards make a variety of charges, and it’s useful to know when going abroad which would be the best to use where.

MoneyExtra has some useful tips on using credit cards abroad, and of course it’s also worth checking what the likely charges will be with your credit card provider before travelling - it might pay to leave the card at home.
