Money Saving March: Delay Buying

Here’s a good tip for basic money saving that I’ve seen a few people recommend.

When you’re thinking about buying something, ask yourself whether it is something you need, or just something you want. If you can try to delay the purchase for at least a few days (longer would be better!), you can really work out whether you have to buy it or not.

The chances are that if you can last a week or more without buying it, you don’t really need it, and won’t spend the money. If you’re the type of person who loves impulse purchases, this would be a particularly good tip too follow.
