Here’s a new idea from a company called GuestInvest – you can own a room in a luxury London hotel, and receive 50% of the rental income, plus you get to stay in the room for up to 52 nights a year.
It’s not cheap though – the rooms cost between £175,000 and £250,000, but as they’re classed as commercial property, you could include the room in a SIPP if you wanted to. The first hotel they’re offering is to include 170 rooms, and will open in Paddington next year.
GuestInvest previously launched a buy-to-let scheme, and over the 2 years that has been running, investors have seen annual returns of 6.5%, and they’re guaranteeing a return of 6% for this new development.
