It looks like the first winners from London’s 2012 Olympics will be the homeowners with houses in the areas that are to be developed for the games.
Property prices are soaring in parts of London such as Stratford and Tower Hamlets, with prices up 4.6% in the latter in October, on top of a 3.3% rise in September.
It may be good news for those with houses in Tower Hamlets, although tower blocks make up 70% of the housing there, so it might not be good for those wishing to move out of those to a larger property in the area.
