A new app has appeared in the top 10 free finance iPhone apps, which is a pretty rare thing at the moment.
Pageonce Personal Finance is billed as the “largest personal finance service in the US”, and promises to allow you to “obtain financial peace of mind by managing all of your online accounts, anytime, anywhere. Monitor and review credit card transactions, bank accounts, investment portfolios and more!”.
Sounds great, but I’ve been loathed to try it out because of some of the user reviews shown on its iTunes page:
To be fair, there’s no date given for the reviews above, and the app has been around for a while, so it may have been updated since these errors. Most of the recent reviews concentrate on the fact that UK accounts aren’t catered for very well, and the fact that everything is shown in $ rather than £.
Overall it’s got just a 2 star rating, yet it is supposedly recommended by several top US websites such as the NY Times, USA Today, CNN, Fox News, CNET, Gizmodo, TechChrunch, PC World and PC Magazine.
I’ll do a bit more digging to find out more about the app before risking my own accounts, but I’m intrigued why it’s suddenly appeared in the top 10 free finance apps, so it must have been downloaded a lot recently.
If you’ve tried the app, please let us know how you got on in the comments below.
