£1 Billion Lying Around

Are you the sort of person that hoards 1p, 2p, and 5p pieces, like me? It appears that we are not alone, as there is £1 billion worth of change lying idle in U.K. households.

Mine personally seem to accumulate on my chest of drawers, before being transferred to an old Roses Chocolates jar after about 6 months of cluttering up the place. Now and again I do count them out and cash them in, or it has been known for the contents of the jar to be donated to charity, when I’m feeling generous.
