The Portman Building Society has launched a new savings accounts that is only available to the over 50s.
The 50 Plus Account pays 5.00% AER for the first 9 months, then guarantees to be no less than the Bank of England Base Rate plus 0.05% for a further 12 months.
The minimum investment is £2,500, with a maximum contribution of £50,000, but withdrawals require 75 days notice. It is also only available fromt he Portman branches, not by post or online.
