So, Britain has officially fallen into a period of deflation, for the first time in nearly 50 years, with the news that the Retail Price Index (RPI), has gone sub zero, to -0.4%.

Egg Money To Stop Paying Interest On Positive Balances
Egg have announced some changes to their Egg Money credit card which may be of interest to their customers. From 15th May the card will become the “Egg Money World MasterCard”, but more importantly the card will stop paying interest on positive balances.

Fake £1 Coins: Estimate Doubled
Last year we reported on the number of fake £1 coins which was estimated to be in the region of 30 million, and we showed how to spot a fake pound coin.
Today it has been announced that the estimate from the Royal Mint is probably way off, with one firm suggesting that there could be more than 70 million fake pound coins in existence, which is one in 20 pound coins.
