Fake £1 Coins: Estimate Doubled

Last year we reported on the number of fake £1 coins which was estimated to be in the region of 30 million, and we showed how to spot a fake pound coin.

Today it has been announced that the estimate from the Royal Mint is probably way off, with one firm suggesting that there could be more than 70 million fake pound coins in existence, which is one in 20 pound coins.
