If you’re thinking about booking your holiday soon, take care when being offered the travel agent’s own travel insurance.
Research has shown that by you can get travel insurance for up to 50% cheaper online (sorry, can’t find link to where the research was done).
If you can’t be bothered to shop around, it’s at least worth trying to haggle with the travel agent to reduce the cost – they may be willing to throw the insurance in for free if you have the guts to threaten not to buy the holiday unless they do.
