MoneyExpert: Current Account Offer To Run Out In Four Weeks

When choosing the most suitable place to store money, those who compare current account features could take advantage of a recent offer if they act quickly.

HSBC is currently offering a rate of six per cent interest on balances in credit for 12 months with its Bank Account Plus, which was launched two months ago.

The offer is valid for balances of up to £2,500 and the account has a number of other features, such as free cash withdrawals while abroad and free travel insurance.

Customers can take full advantage of the offer if they open a Bank Account Plus before November 30th 2006 and will also receive a discount on the account’s subscription.

The bank has said that the account has been “an instant hit with British customers” and recorded an increase of 55 per cent in the number of people opening an account this September.

Joe Garner, HSBC’s UK head of personal financial services, said that the account was popular as “today’s customers are savvy” about their money and will only choose offers which they recognise as providing “real value”.

“[It is] clear that customers want to simplify their finances by buying bundles of services.”

HSBC is one of the world’s largest banks and operates 9,500 offices globally. It offers a range of financial services including investment, private and banking services.
