I’ve got a few friends who have told me how good First Direct are as a bank – for customer service and the products they offer. But the decision to start charging for text alerts might take a bit of the shine off for them.
First Direct is planning on introducing charges of £2.50 for certain alerts, such as letting you know when you’re nearly overdrawn or when your salary has been paid in.
