So, it’s Mother’s Day this Sunday here in the U.K. (apparently it’s a few weeks later in most of the rest of the world), and if you’ve yet to sort out a gift for mummy dearest, the blogosphere and webosphere (is that even a word? Well, it is now) is full of ideas.
Here are links to some of the best:
- Flowers for £2 at Tesco – cheap bunches that even the kids can afford to buy at the UK’s largest supermarket. Apparently ASDA do an even cheaper bunch (£1.97), so there’s really no excuse not to get mum some.
- Tesco are also offering a Mother’s Day chicken & vegetable Sunday lunch for a fiver.
- If you want to push the boat out a little more, Lastminute.com has plenty of Mother’s Day Gifts, including pamper days, hotel deals and city breaks.
- TimesOnline has 10 cheap but cheerful ideas for Mother’s Day.
- The Telegraph has some useful discount codes for saving on various types of gift for mum.
- Apparently, March 23rd is the best day of the year to buy a cheap car. If you really love your mom, why not wait until Monday and then buy her a new motor?
Of course, mums aren’t bothered by material things, they’d much prefer you to spend time on them, rather than money, so why not cook them a meal, offer to do some gardening for them or just go and have a chat over a cup of coffee if it’s something you don’t get to do very often. I’m sure they’d appreciate that much more!
