So by now, the first new bank on the UK high street in about a billion* years should be open, as Metro Bank opens its first branch in Holborn, central London.
Sadly, stuck here in the West Midlands, we’re unable to test out the level of customer service it promises, gaze at the fancy “we’re trying not to look like a bank” decor or even tie our dog up at the cashiers desk (how long will it be until one of the established banks causes a stink by sending in an undercover pooch to do its business on Metro Bank’s new carpet? Does Howard have a dog?).
So if you manage to get through the inevitable queues and general opening hoopla over the next few days, let us know what you think of Metro Bank in the comments below.
* Actually it’s about 150.
