Follow Up To London Bombings

After last week’s terrorist attacks in London, it’s good to see that things are returning to some form of reality in our capital. Obviously, the families of those killed will be in mourning, but it appears that shoppers were not put off as expected, that most workers have not been deterred from travelling to the city, and that the markets have regained any losses that were incurred on Thursday (the fact that they continued trading throughout the day of the attacks shows that really, the terrorists did not manage to shut down the city with their attacks, as I’ve heard some people suggest).

It’s also good to see that some of the top insurance firms will cover victims despite many policies having terrorism excluded from the list of things they would insure against.

In times like these, we need this kind of common sense to prevail and not over-reactions to the situation.
